Job Description:
- Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market analysis to understand supply and demand dynamics, price trends, and regulatory changes affecting the energy market. This analysis helps inform trading decisions.
- Risk Management: Develop and implement risk management strategies to minimize potential losses. This includes assessing and mitigating operational risks associated with energy flow, settlement and trading.
- Portfolio Management: Manage a portfolio of energy assets and contracts, ensuring that it aligns with the organization's financial goals and risk tolerance.
- Profit Maximization: Work to maximize profitability by identifying arbitrage opportunities, optimizing energy trade execution as per PPA/3rd party by managing trading costs.
- Policy Interpretation: Interpret and communicate open access energy policies to internal teams, applicants, and external partners, addressing inquiries and providing clear guidance.
- Collaborative Coordination: Collaborate closely with legal, compliance, and technical teams to facilitate seamless and timely open access approvals.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and organized records of open access approvals, permissions granted, and associated documentation in accordance with regulatory standards. Maintain trackers for different activities to improve productivity and transparency.
- Process Enhancement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of open access approval workflows, identifying areas for optimization and efficiency.
- Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, external partners, and regulatory bodies to address queries, provide insights, and enhance transparency in settlement procedures.
- PPA compliance: Adhere clause of Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for energy settlement and billing, also proactive approach and coordination for improvement in PPA clause with past learnings.
- Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain relationships with key industry stakeholders such as utilities, regulators, nodal agencies, consultant and service providers.
Qualification:
· Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
· 12-15 Yrs. of Total Experience.
Proven experience in Open Access Approvals, energy settlement, energy trading preferably in renewable sector.
Administrative Responsibilities:
· Coordination with Approval agencies, Regulatory bodies, service provider, consultant, etc.
Compliance with ethical standards and a commitment to integrity
Technical Knowledge:
- In-depth knowledge of open access principles, energy regulations, and industry best practices.
- Knowledge of energy markets, trading instruments, and financial derivatives.
- Familiarity with trading software and tools, such as energy trading platforms and risk management systems.
- Reconcile Energy Transactions: Efficiently reconcile and validate energy trade data, invoices, and contracts to ensure accurate financial settlements between market participants.
- Data Analysis: Analyse energy consumption patterns, trading activities, and market trends to identify discrepancies and resolve any inconsistencies.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry regulations and contractual obligations, performing audits and validations as required.
Software Utilization: Utilize specialized software systems to streamline settlement processes, automate tasks, and improve operational efficiency.
