JOB OBJECTIVE

The role is to ensure implementation of ESSG practices/processes throughout the project lifecycle of wind power plants, Wind Solar Hybrid Power Plants & all solar parks.

 

 

ROLES – Following are the key roles of EHS Manager but are not limited to

·      Conduct EHS Audits, Inspections, Walkdowns across all under construction sites and operational assets.

·      Maintain the observation tracker and follow-up on recorded Non-Compliances, Non-conformances, OFIs, UA/UC etc.

·      Ensure that all applicable EHS events are reported, classified, investigated and actions for improvement/correction are identified and implemented according to FPEL requirements and applicable governmental regulations.

·      Provide on-site trainings on EHS&S topics to contractor workforce as per training need assessment (TNA).

·      Ensure EHS & Social compliance across all plants (Solar & Wind Solar Hybrid).

·      Ensure conformance of site activities with Environmental & Social Management System (ESMS) and Integrated Management System (IMS).

·      Ensure implementation of ESMP across all Open Access & Hybrid Plants.

·      Carry out Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment for overall activities, if required and implement new control strategies to minimize the risk level.

·      Review and approve work permit and HIRA with consequent track on renewal/closure/revision, as required.

·      Fill up the project EHS MIS sheet and submit to central database. Capture key performance indicators such as safety observations, near miss reporting, audit finding , EHS compliance closure and training completion etc.

·      Identify the EHS&S non-conformities throughout the processes and strive for their closing.

·      Attend Internal & External Kick-off meetings and examine client’s EHS Manual and submit a report on cost repercussions because of special requirements from off taker to business development team, when requested.

·      Monitor Toolbox talk, JSA preparation, reported UA/UC for their closure, Grievance for their immediate redressal, Stakeholder Engagement Plan for consequent communication.

·      Conduct incident, accident investigation and subsequent implementation of corrective/preventive actions.

·      Involve/conduct on-site EHS committee meetings fortnightly and improve site EHS&S performance.

·      Review of Plant Designs, Initial Site Survey/ ESIA/ ESDDs/CHA/ Hydrological assessment Reports with subsequent exchange of appropriate suggestions.

·      Evaluation of contractors on ESG criteria with subsequent monitoring of their performance.

·      Collect, record, and manage environment sustainability data of plants.

·      Review and monitor contractual obligations in accordance with legal requirements. Ensure contractor/subcontractor compliance with all regulatory/legal requirements.

 

 

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:

 

 

·      B.Tech./B.E./ M.Tech. in Electrical or Civil or Mechanical Engineering.

·      PDISM/ADISM/Master’s in Industrial Safety from central/state recognised college.

·      Certificate from Global Wind Organization would be preferred.

 

 

 

REQUIRED MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:

 

·      Minimum 5 - 7 years of work experience in core WTG/Wind Solar Hybrid plant construction and maintenance field.

 

 

 

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Computer literate (MS Projects, Excel, Power Point etc.)
  • Familiar with Environmental, Health & Safety Regulations in relation to India.

  • Must have good prioritization, organization, analytical and planning skills
  • Ability to organize thoughts and ideas and communicate congruently.
  • Uncompromising integrity and exemplary work ethic.
  • Must be flexible to consider other’s ideas, be able to adapt to new situations.

 

KNOWLEDGE OF LANGUAGES

  • Sound command of English, National Language (written and spoken).
  • Fluency in other local languages would be treated as an asset.
