Reporting Relations

Head – ESG

 

Job Objective

The role is to ensure implementation of ESG and HSE practices during construction, commissioning and operation of multiple rooftops, ground, and floating solar Projects.

 

Roles (As stated and not limited to)

·      Ensure ESG/EHS compliance across all Solar power plants.

·      Ensure conformance of site activities/compliance with applicable IFC PS, WBG EHS guidelines, Environmental & Social Management System, and Integrated Management System.

·      Engage in Environmental and Social Impact Assessment study with consequent implementation of E&S Action Plan.

·      Formulate, review, and revise safe working procedures, checklists, formats for overall activities being performed on site.

·      Carry out Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment for overall activities, if required and implement new control strategies to minimize the risk level.

·      Review and approve work permit and HIRA with consequent track on their renewal/closure/revision, as required.

·      Provide trainings on various Environmental, Health, Safety & Social topics to establish a sound ESG/EHS culture amongst stakeholders.

·      Fill up and submit monthly comprehensive ESG/EHS MIS to central database.

·      Organise various events on corporate and site level to create EHS awareness within associated stakeholders.

·      Conduct ESG/EHS audits, inspections, walkdowns at plants which are under execution/operation with consequent report preparation, submission, and follow-up on observations.

·      Identify the non-conformities throughout the processes and strive for their closing.

·      Examine client’s EHS Manual and submit a report on cost repercussions because of special requirements from off taker to business development team, when requested.

·      Monitor Toolbox talk, JSA preparation, reported UAUC for their closure, Grievance for their immediate redressal, Stakeholder Engagement Plan for consequent communication.

·      Conduct incident, accident, near miss investigation.

·      Involve/conduct on- site EHS committee meetings fortnightly and improve site ESG/EHS performance.

·      Assist peers in mapping ESG/EHS requirements.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or Engineering background with good experience in H&S.

·      Accredited courses and / or certificates in ESG/ Environmental Management, and Occupational Health and Safety Management.

·      NEBOSH IGC will be added advantage to above requirements.

Professional experience

  • Relevant professional experience of at least 4-5 years, working in area of construction management (Preferably Solar & Wind) in the field of HSE/ESG
  • Exposure in Utility Scale project management would be an add-on.

 

Skills/Knowledge

  • Computer literate (MS Projects, Excel, Power Point etc.)
  • Familiar with ESG frameworks, IFC Performance Standards, Health & Safety laws, regulations, and guidelines.

Knowledge of languages

  • Excellent command of English, National Language (written and spoken).
  • Fluency in other local languages would be treated as an asset.
